you laughing, yet?

i've been emailing this guy from nerve.com when i found out that he actually signed up through the onion! for some reason, that strikes me as weird. so, does that mean the goof balls that look to the onion as "america's finest news source" are also looking for love online? i am a fan of the onion myself, even though i don't read it regularly. i just wonder if there's a personality-type that you can attribute to people who sign up to the "spring street networks" online dating service via nerve versus salon versus the onion. after some thought, here's my hypothesis on the matter:

nerve: not to toot my own horn, but we're the kinky, sexy people and we're not ashamed about it. "hey! nerve is showing the winners of its soft-porn amateur photography contest!!!"

salon: they're the "i'm an avid reader/intellectual who is looking for someone with whom i can discuss politics and literature... and maybe get some nooky while i'm at it."

the onion: "dude! that's fuckin' hilarious!! wait... check this out... look at her profile. she's hot!!!"

it's nice to know the company with whom you're sharing cyberspace.
